Join us Saturday, October 16 from 6–9 pm at the Blackbird Cafe in Valparaiso for an opening reception for The Nesting Instinct: New Work by Melissa Washburn. Enjoy refreshments and meet the artist. Bring the whole family!

And a big “Thank You” to Mary and Dan at the Blackbird Cafe for their support of artists in the community, as well as their dedication to running a warm, friendly, local business.
The Nesting Instinct will be on view through November 13 at Blackbird Cafe, 114 E. Lincolnway, Valparaiso.

By day, Melissa Washburn is Art Director/Graphic Designer at Group 7even in Valparaiso. By night (or early morning, as the case may be), she creates expressive mixed media artwork. Melissa has a BFA in painting and printmaking from Binghamton University (SUNY) and an MA in arts administration from IU Bloomington.
