Being in the graphic design field has proved to be a very rewarding career for me. My mom always told me when I was younger, “Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life” (truthfully, probably the only time I ever listened to Mom when I was young). I am lucky enough to do what I love and make a living at it.
There comes a point in every designers career when they are proud and would like to show off the work they’ve created, because it’s all about getting a little recognition and promotion. And now is that time in my career. For the past year, I’ve freelanced under the “creative alias” TZesigns where I create custom wedding invitations, party invitations, shower invitations, birth announcements, holiday cards, thank you cards and stationary. I truly enjoy celebrating all the little joy’s in others lives and giving their special event a face. Everything I create is assembled with my own two hands and although the design part is fun, sometimes I like the production part better. There is no greater joy than seeing one of my pieces fully assembled and watching the client pull that bundle out of the envelope with a huge smile on their face. All my designs are custom, and unique. In particular, I’ve never done the same invitation twice. There is always a unique aspect to my client’s event that I play up.
So without further ado, I am pleased to announce that TZesigns is the July artist of the month at Pier 74 Bar and Grill.
Pier 74 is located in Cedar Lake, Indiana and has been a supporter of the INsight Design Conference. They support local artists and I think it’s wonderful that they allow artists/designers a medium to showcase their work!
Please stop by Pier 74 from now until July 31st to view the work I’m so proud of, but also show your support to a local, family-owned business that has AWESOME food and keeps on rockin’ it.

Congrats T!!! Thank you for sharing your work with all of us. You’re such an amazing talent and I’m glad we will all get a view into your world.
Thanks so much Joe! I am flattered. To be honest, I’ve been surrounded by some incredible talent in the past year and I can only hope that some of that has influenced me. I can count 4 people that have been spectacular mentors to me and I am so grateful. In my career (and life), I hope to have an impact on others just like some have impacted me. Just gotta KEEP MOVING FORWARD, challenging yourself and making goals!
I hope to see you at Pier 74 soon!
TZ, you should make it a point to recognize those people to the public online!
Sounds like you should set up a time for us to go out there… #tzdesigntweetups
Finn (and anyone else)…I’m having people up at Pier 74 on Saturday, July 10th, anytime from 5pm-8pm. We are going to be hanging out at Pier 74, and supporting a wonderful, local NWI establishment (more than welcome to drink & eat too). You (or anyone else for that matter) are more than welcome to join me!
PS. You would make a hashtag for it! Hahaha.
Congrats, Teri! We are proud of you!
Thanks Nick, means a lot! Wish you and Cher could come see it, I’ll take pictures and post them!
Congrats TZ, looking forward to seeing the work up there on that Saturday!
That is awesome. I’ll try to make it up there to check out your work.
I snuck over to Pier 74 the other day to check it out because I can’t make it on the 10th and your stuff looked awesome. (the cilantro BBQ chicken pizza rocked my socks as well!)
