A few of us graphic designers on the leadership team for the INsight Design Conference decided to check out a documentary called Typeface.  It was about the Hamilton Factory that produced wood type until 1985. That’s when Hamilton closed its doors because of the birth of the digital age. Now, the Hamilton Factory is home to a typeface museum and offers workshops. Everyone who saw the film was really inspired by the people who are keeping this piece of American printing history alive. That is why we have organized a bus trip to the museum and we want you to come! Get from behind your computer, get your hands dirty, and learn a bit about graphic design history. I can’t think of a better way to get to know other people in the industry then a four-hour bus trip to Two Rivers Wisconsin. There are only 12 spots available so sign up now! First come, first serve. 1. My wife is taking a typography course this semester at Valpo (Originally had VU but had to correct myself as the Brand Nazi’s might beat me if I didn’t) so I’ll pass this on to her to pass to her prof. Maybe he would be interested as well.

  2. Definitely looking forward to this trip! We caught the movie / documentary quite awhile back and it was heart warming, education and just flat out awesome. I can’t wait to see this place, touch the equipment, and smell the ink.

I am in for sure, I heard that Judith Mayer is going along with a few others. You probably don’t want to miss this experience if you’ve got the cash and time.
