Take the Color Headaches Out of your Projects – Monitor Calibration (Color Management)

All monitors display color differently.  The only way to address this is by calibrating and profiling your monitor.  Therefore the first priority for any project (big or small) should be to check that your monitor is calibrated.  I would recommend getting a hardware based system ($52+) because in my experience color is extremely relative to both each person and the environment you.  Another reason Time=Money

color accuracy and the ability to match your prints to your monitor

In my experience color is extremely relative to both each person and the environment around them.  For these reasons. How well do you see color? Test your self and leave comments  below on how you did…

  1. Can you give me a little more info about what I was suppose to get from that tool?

I got like a 20 on the test but they don’t give an average or anything like that for me to tell if that was bad or good. As well what hardware products are you talking about? Maybe a couple links or something to them to give an idea.

    • I got an 18 – we both have perfect color acuity. The lower the number the better the score, based on 0-100 scale. Cool test. Now I can have some proof that I see color different then my wife. Nice!

  2. Great post! Having your monitor(s) calibrated and profiled is usually ignored by a lot of people.

  3. Great post. I got an 11. :-)

Cool test, I scored a 0! Perfect color vision!
